Lushy
Toasted and fuzzy, the Lushy crew hews to a life of bourbon and bonbons, coconuts and fountains, and a dream that there is always somewhere a happy hideaway with a cordial bartender who can make a proper drink.
Bossa beat alterna-pop that's lounge-y and danceable with a hint of exotica and a touch of electronica. Nutty and hip, the 10 piece LUSHY features more horns and by more horns we mean: trumpet, trombone, and various saxophones plus a bevy of instrumenta rollicka: flute, synth, keys, melodica, guitars and the inevitable bongos, congas, tambourine, maracas, and shakers-martini and otherwise... this is progressive cocktail pop!

APE
Imagine the grooviest tropical vacation in your mind – that’s the sound of APE. Hawaiian steel guitars, ukuleles, jungle drums and the only band in the world that features a live Tiki Carver. So hold onto your Mai Tai, and ENJOY WITH CAUTION because this six-piece band from San Francisco will spike the tiki punch.
The Martini Kings
The Martini Kings swing back to Tiki Oasis for another intoxicating vibraphonic performance. lounge music is hot right now but nobody plays it with that ice-cool-cigarette-smoke and dubonnet fifties vibe that the Martini Kings have. if you should drop into the kings suite don't be surprised if you suddenly spill your drink, it's the ghosts of Dino and Sammy brushing your elbow on the way to the bar.

Sunny Moon
Singer of Nutty, Sunny Moon will be joining The Martini Kings on stage at TIki Oasis 10. The creator/director and nucleus of this atomic kookiness, Mr. Moon (often disguised as Joel Hile) is the voice of the outfit. A military brat born in London and developed elsewhere, Sonny has alternated between stage, screen and music projects, from occasional stuntwork and playing leads in local theatre and cult film faves to blues/rock bands. He's tried his hand at several endeavors, including writing scripts that he swears are in a box somewhere. Oh, and he does a pretty good Sinatra.
His penchant for classic rock and classic jazz and big band, including all the spy soundtracks and crime jazz from the 50s and 60s, along with the similar, diverse influences of the rather eclectic mind of his counterpart, Guy Wonder, is what fuels the Nutty sound.
Look for the cat with the swagger and the scat, and you've found Sonny. His favorite nut? His left one.

Thee Swank Bastards
Rumor has it, or damned near insists that a music fan will rarely come across anything fresh or innovative anymore. So where does a surf trio from Las Vegas come in? Simple, by offering one of the most fervent, insistent live sets ever witnessed by a partygoer worth their weight in beer suds! Now for those who thought the surf scene was bottoming out, Thee Swank Bastards have definitely been on hand to rev it back up again. With their distinctively retro look: mutton chops, narrow ties, black suits; countered with riveting instrumentals that combine danceable rhythms, Eric Schauer’s syncopated drum patterns, Shaun Coleman’s propulsive bass lines, and best of all – the serpentine guitar licks of Jesse Del Quadro, create a musical sensibility that is at once deft and daring. In the end, their genius speaks for itself. They manage to take the period fetishism of old-school surf music and distill it with a modern twist that makes them instantly melodic and highly memorable. Now if you haven’t experienced the Bastards before – what are you waiting for? These lads just have so much musical suss, wit and magic for the asking – so whether you book them, watch them, or savor them!

The Tikiyaki Orchestra
The Tikiyaki Orchestra is a musical experience unlike any other today. Utilizing a unique combination of sounds...smooth, mellow vibraphone, twanging, reverb-drenched surf guitar, pulsating theater organ, lilting Hawaiian steel guitar, bongos, congas, and an arsenal of exotic perucssion from around the world, all set against the sounds of the ocean and jungle (and lots of bird calls from enthusiastic audience members), The Tikiayki Orchestra transports the audience to a place and time when Cantonese food was "exotic cuisine" and people escaped the mundane with the aid of strong, sweet rum-based cocktails served in tiki mugs with little colorful umbrellas.
The Orchestra will be performing original material from their debut album "StereoExotique, and highly anticipated brand new, release "Swingin' Sounds for the Jungle Jetset" (due out in May 2009), as well as some Exotica classics, all served up with Style , Panache, Stellar musicianship and and good dose of tounge in cheek lounge/cheese banter (courtesy of Vibraphonist/MC Marty Lush).
Their sold out shows at KONA (formerly Sam's Seafood) in Huntington Beach, and performances at Hukilau 2008, The Mission Tiki Drive In, Tiki Farm and Bahooka have garnered them quite a large following in Southern California, and reputation for always delivering a great show and a damn good time.

When Gaylord was a wee child in 1960s New York, he was not afraid of one aspect of an impending adulthood. He knew he would be enveloped by all the mid-century music the grownups around him enjoyed. When, upon his reaching maturity, the musical trends of the times unveiled a different and less swanky plan, it dismayed him none. He realized he could become a cultural minister of the recorded disc and provide his own soundtrack to gracious living.
Though Gaylord has hosted a radio program on Jersey City, NJ freeform station WFMU of an eclectic nature for the past 18 years, as a denizen of the demimonde his nightclub DJ stints take on different shadings. In the 1990s, he regaled the clientele in the Manhattan club Bar d'O with a melange of lounge/exotica/easy-listening/bossa nova/go-go sounds for the In Hi-Fi lounge series, and in the the 21st century he was one of the rotating guest DJs for Quiet City: Radio in Hi-Fi on LuxuriaMusic.com. Equally adept in the disc disciplines of '60s soul, twist, surf, beat and girl group tunes, Gaylord Fields also knows the secret to a perfectly balanced Shirley Temple (more Shirley, less Temple).

Switched On Audrey
Switched On Audrey starting record collecting at age 8 when she received her first LP, The Beatles 1962-1966, which was given to her by her aunt. Ten years later she met Bomp Records' garage guru Greg Shaw and became fixated on '60s punk, British R&B, and psychedelic music. Soon after, she began spinning at the "Rave Up!" and then "Cavern Club" in Hollywood. It was there she met Domenic Priore and co-produced/wrote/and starred in It's Happening!, a '60s-styled go-go show in the style of Shindig and Ready Steady Go! After the show’s six-year run, she moved to Europe where she became the resident DJ of the UP Club! in Frankfurt.
While in Rome, she helped organize the Danger!Diabolik, which featured a display of her sizeable Diabolik movie-poster collection. Audrey doesn't stop at collecting records and memorabilia; she has a huge vintage clothing collection focusing on designer Rudi Gernreich, whom she hopes to open a museum for one day. After returning to California, she began producing another TV show, The Now Sound, featuring contemporary bands such as The Masonics, Peter, Bjorn, and John and The Soundtrack of Our Lives. Among Audrey’s most favorite things to do is DJ, but by far the most exciting was when director Roman Coppola asked her to spin at the premiere of his movie CQ at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
At Luxuria she hosts Pretty World, a Brazilian-based musical tour that mixes up the best Bossa Nova, Samba, Tropicalia, Jazz and other Latin delicacies—including any version of “Summertime” she can find.

Agent Kari
Agent Kari plays music that serves as a soundtrack to the groovy ’60s lifestyle she’s created for herself with clothing and interior design. On her LuxuriaMusic show, she spins songs that fall under her personal definition of Go Go—upbeat music that makes her want to shake it up in a chaotic and colorful fashion. She loves to dance, and that passion has led her to discover many of her musical selections.
For the past seven years, this host of K.A.O.S a Go-Go has traveled undercover to 1960s-themed parties in Europe, performing/go go dancing under the alias Mata Kari. She digs freakbeat, garage, psychedelic, hammond organ, fuzzy guitar, funky soul, sexy soundtracks, jazzy library music and some kitschy cocktail, and gets especially turned on if any of the above are sung in a foreign tongue.

Jack Fetterman & Gina of the Jungle
New York City DJs Jack Fetterman and Gina of the Jungle have shrunk their titanic record collections down to “carry-on" size, creating a portable version of their unique blend of Exotic Music for your poolside and shopping pleasure.
Jack has been spinning exotica and all manner of space age bachelor pad music since creating the In Hi-Fi party at the Manhattan club Bar d'O in 1995. His Quiet City: Radio in Hi-Fi show broadcast live from NYC until 2005 when the local power company snipped his DSL line.
Gina has been organizing cocktail parties and dj-ing since the mid-80s. Her specialties are classic cocktails, modern takes on Polynesian bar snacks, quirky Latinesque exotica and 60s style surf.
In 2008, Jack and Gina formed “Portable Primitiva “. This partnership provides cool background music and either classic or tiki food and cocktail programs to private parties, room crawls, night clubs, and related events.
When they are not spinning music and handing out cocktails to others, they are playing exotica and handing out cocktails to themselves in the comfort of the Blue Lory Lounge, Gina's home tiki bar.

David Ponak
David Ponak has been on the forefront of swanky sounds for more than a decade. At the height of the ’90s lounge revival, Ponak came up with the idea of combining classic lounge, soundtrack and sunshine pop music with current artists who carry on that aesthetic on his radio show, The Nice Age, which originated on Los Angeles public radio station KCRW before migrating to LuxuriaMusic. Ponak was also the host of The Liquid Room, which aired for several years on L.A. station KPFK.
When not blending the sounds of the old and the new behind the wheels of steel, Ponak can be found crooning classics and originals with his neo-lounge outfit, Mello Cads.
Luxuria DJ - David Ponak - The Nice Age - Thursdays 8-10 PM PST
