It’s the 12th anniversary of The Tiki Oasis Book Club! This year we will read “Eve's Hollywood” by Eve Babitz.

Part memoir, part fiction, and all fabulous, this is the seminal book by the psychedelic “It Girl” of the Sunset scene. A brilliant writer and artist, Eve was tuned in and turned on, always at the epicenter of art, music, parties… and even congressional hearings about the benefits of LSD. She was Jim Morrison’s friend and Joan Didion’s frenemy, and an avid chronicler of the 1960s and '70s. While Morrison and Didion remain forever linked to those times, Eve dropped out and was forgotten for many years, but is now rediscovered, back in print, and perhaps more famous (notorious?) than ever before.

Hostess with the mostest books, Karen Finlay, is the founder of The Mid-Century Supper Club Potluck, and owner of Alibi Bookshop in Vallejo, CA. When she’s not reading, she’s crafting cute felt brooches - something she never thought she would do! But books, book clubs, and Tiki Oasis are her very favorite things, and combining them for the past 12 years has been a dream come true.
