Surf’s Up! A Wild History of 60’s Beach Party Movies

Presented by Bo Bennett

Surfing! Drag racing! Go-Go dancing! Custom cars! Music! Irresponsible drinking! These themes formed the plotlines of most Beach Party films, which rose to popularity in the 1960s. From “Ma and Pa Kettle At Waikiki” to modern films such as “Psycho Beach Party” this seminar examines the allure and formulation of Beach Party films over the millennia.

As a lifelong surfer and film enthusiast, Bo Bennett is an expert in the history of beach party films. Bennett is a professional social worker and former Hawaii lifeguard. He has a BA in Film and has presented several times at Tiki Oasis on film and surfing topics. More info: bo.bennett.129
