Misunderstood Cocktails

Presented by Matt Ray

Why do certain classic cocktails taste unusual at first but go on to captivate generations of loyal fans? This enlightening and light-hearted seminar explores some of the cocktail world's most misunderstood drinks, uncovering the stories, ingredients, and historical context that make them unique. Along the way, we'll discover how changing tastes and expectations have shaped their reputations—and why these oft-overlooked classics may deserve a second look. You'll leave with fascinating cocktail lore, fresh perspectives, and perhaps a newfound appreciation for a few drinks you never thought you'd enjoy.
